Documenting bands in their rehearsal spaces...the places most people never see or think about when they go to see a show or hear a favorite song.

BLANK

Blank was(is) a very productive pre-emo/post-punk band from Baltimore who were formed in the early 1990’s and were led by Ryan Shelkett…they had a rotating cast of members w/ Ryan and Kerry Silanskis being the lynchpins. As the band approaches their 20th year, I caught up with them as they rehearsed for a upcoming anniversary show. Thanks to Ryan, Kerry and Lee Blades for letting me in to shoot these photos in a practice space that is over a restaurant in Hampden. March 12th, 2012

WHITE LIFE

White Life are an indie/pop band from Baltimore who incorporate hooky melodies and layered vocals with dancy beats to make music that is both dreamy and upbeat. The band is John Ehrens, Emily Ehrens-Hainline, Dave Fell and Grayson Brown. They practice @ The Soft House in the Copy Cat Building in downtown Baltimore. I did these photos on Sunday February 19th, 2012.
